Railway Interchange is an ideal venue for our Railroad Division to share it’s leading-edge systems and products for plugging spike holes in both concrete ties and wood ties as well as unique application systems to accurately apply them. Our team will meet with railroad professionals from around the world as they seize the opportunity to see and hear all that is new and innovative across the entire rail supply industry.

The demand for WVCO’s railroad maintenance and repair products continue to grow steadily, but it’s our proprietary product, SpikeFast, that is becoming known by most railroads as the industry standard.

SpikeFast, a non-foam polyurethane product, was created in 1999 as an alternative to wood plugs and other plugging materials. The result was a more reliable and efficient system of wood-tie remediation. Performance tests commissioned by national railroads indicate that SpikeFast outperforms wood plugs, polymeric foam and epoxy foam.

We hope you’ll stop by Booth 4509 to learn more about these and other repair and maintenance products.

Spotlight on SpikeFast®, the Signature Product of the WVCO Railroad Division!

For nearly two centuries, the railroad industry has played a vital role in our economy and continues to grow throughout the world.  Why?  Railroads are one of the most economical and efficient modes of transportation resulting in more jobs and billions of dollars saved annually. As the industry continues to grow, so do the challenges; prompting the Willamette Valley Company Railroad Division to create successful solutions for railroad maintenance.

Our Railroad Division is continuously developing leading-edge systems and products for plugging spike holes in both concrete ties and wood ties as well as unique application systems to accurately apply them. The demand for WVCO’s railroad maintenance and repair products continue to grow steadily, but it’s our proprietary product, SpikeFast®, that is becoming known by most railroads as the industry standard.

Performance tests results show that SpikeFast® is the leading spike-hole filler in the railroad industry.

Members from our Railroad Division team are gearing up for the 2014 American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s (ASLRRA) Annual Convention in San Diego California later this month.

The event, April 22-25, is the railroad industry’s premier education and networking convention addressing railroading’s hottest issues.  Representatives from the WVCO Railroad Division will be demonstrating products we manufacture for the railroad industry including SpikeFast® at booth #607 in the exhibition hall.

This year’s (ASLRRA) Annual Convention is more than just a convention. This is also an opportunity for members of our industry to participate in a special service project benefiting Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization that sends care packages (more than 150,000 annually) to Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors, Care Givers and to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed overseas.

The goal is to create 500 hygiene kits to go in the care packages and 250 paracord survival bracelets. The convention will also have letter writing stations set up around the room with drop boxes where participants can write a message of thanks for a military member serving overseas. ASLRRA’s goal is to have 1,000 notes written by the end of the convention.

ASLRRA is a non-profit trade association, proudly representing more than 510 short line, regional, Class I, switching, transload, transit and tourist lines and over 460 Associate Business Suppliers.

Willamette Valley Company is proud to partner with many outstanding organizations that have helped to lead the way in our industries. These unique partnerships have enabled us to better serve our customers by giving us access to the latest technologies, methodologies, and resources.

This month, we are spotlighting our partnership with REMSA (Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association), a sponsor of Railway Interchange 2013, one of the largest exhibits of maintenance-of-way equipment, products and services in the United States.

REMSA represents companies and individuals who manufacture or sell maintenance-of-way equipment, products, and services, or are engineers, contractors and consultants working in construction and/or maintenance of railroad transportation facilities. Since 1965, the organization has strived to provide it’s members with the very best equipment, machines and services in the railroad industry.

One of the things we value the most about our partnership with REMSA is the global business development opportunities the organization extends to it’s members.  The organization serves the railroad industry by:

• Maintaining long standing alliances with the Federal Railroad Administration, Association of American Railroads, the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA), the Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc., the Railway Supply Institute, the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association, American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, and the U.S. Congress, among others.

• Distributing the REMSA Buyer’s Guide, a compilation of REMSA member companies to more than 5,000 individuals engaged in railway and transit engineering and related disciplines each year.

• Publishing a quarterly newsletter that includes interviews with industry leaders, articles on foreign opportunities, legislation and lobbying efforts, company profiles, as well as exhibition and meeting news.

• Providing scholarships to REMSA member company employees and their families.
Supporting networking with an interactive job board, Career Network, that offers easy-to-use and highly targeted resources for online employment connections.

• Association representatives are politically active on behalf of its members and the railroad industry by meeting with lawmakers in Washington, DC, and at the state level.
Offers Inter-Association Collaboration with all major professional and trade associations in the railway supply and railroad industries.
